Our education collaborators are working on programs to implement the app in STEM classrooms and clubs for kids and teens nationally and around the world to learn about how engineering shapes our every day lives. Kids and teens in these programs will be invited to connect with engineers through the app so they can meet and interact with professionals in their fields of interest. Please contact us to learn more about the program and how you can participate.

I am...

An environmental engineering student who is passionate about making the world a better place.

I chose to be a Environmental Engineer because...

I wanted a rewarding career that allows me to better my community and help people have access to clean water and air.

My typical day at work involves...

As a full-time student with a job, balance and flexibility are key. Typically I spend my days completing assignments, studying, and attending classes. Luckily I have a flexible work schedule, so I can set aside time for that depending on my school schedule.

I want others to know...

that a STEM education is more attainable than you think. I was not an excellent math student in high school, and that made me nervous to start engineering school. With hard work and practice, I was able to become a better student. Also, do not be afraid to ask for help! Friends, professors, family members, and school staff are all there to help you succeed!

My STEM education has helped me ...

Engineering education is not all math and calculations! Engineering school has helped me become a better team player and communicator, both of which are very important as an engineer.

This is My Story

When I started to apply to colleges and started to think about potential career paths for myself, I was very overwhelmed. I was having a hard time pinpointing my interests into a major that suits me. Throughout high school, I was very interested in science and knew that I wanted a career dealing with it in one way or another. I also wanted a career that would allow me to be active in my community and help make it a better place. So, I applied to colleges as an exploratory engineering major and decided to attend The Catholic University of America. I chose to become a civil engineering major (concentrating in environmental engineering) during the first half of my sophomore year. I came to this decision after talking to different engineering professionals, my professors, and other students.

Now I am taking my education to the next level as a graduate student and can't wait to see where my career will take me!
