About this project
This project involves reviewing requested revisions to Flood Insurance Rate Maps. Engineers and surveyors working for property owners submit a request to the community and FEMA to change the Flood Insurance Rate Maps. This project involves reviewing those requests on behalf of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
Who benefits from this project, and how?
Updated and accurate flood insurance rate maps allow property owners to know the risk of flooding on their property. They can then make informed decisions about where and what types of buildings should be constructed on the property to reduce the potential for damage during floods.
